Biography
He was born in Caldas da Rainha and studied in Lisbon where he would later teach. He was a water-colour and general painter, ceramist and sculptor. He won a scholarship with the High Culture Institute in Italy between 1944 and 1946. he was the author of numerous public monuments.
Besides the figurativism of many works, he ventured to try out elements close to abstractionism, to wit by means of a formal decomposition.
