1889-1968
Biography
Born in Vila da Feira, he studied at the E.S.B.A.P., having taken part, during the 1940's, in the “Independents” Group which marked the artistic scene of
that time. Between 1963 and 1964 he had an F.C.G. scholarship. He was to settle down in Viana do Castelo as a secondary school teacher. The work of
Aníbal Alcino would be marked, throughout his career, by the experiences of the 1940 and 1950's when he tried out angular and structured forms
associated with motives connoted with neo-realistic aesthetics. With these characteristics he left behind many landscapes of the Alentejo, where he also
taught, and many figures of workers.
